Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Shinquir SC's Francisco Arancibia started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Francisco Arancibia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Victor Tabliega tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Gualaqui SC getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Teofilo Gigante hit a great ball. Urtungo Temiño was a little too slow when Gustavo Fontanez got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 9th minute. The score was now 1-0. Velasco Padro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Urtungo Temiño made a huge save. In the 14th match minute, Gualaqui SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Johnny Echarri to maneuver through the defense. Gustavo Fontanez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 22 minutes into the match, Francisco Arancibia had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Victor Tabliega. Gualaqui SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Francisco Arancibia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Urti Vagrande sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Villarreal Calva's late challenge caught a Shinquir SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Villarreal Calva helped the player get up and apologised. Villarreal Calva hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Victor Tabliega showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Arancibia, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Urti Vagrande blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Victor Tabliega having to make a save. 35 minutes into the match, Shinquir SC's goal looked a bit too open when Gustavo Fontanez came free, but Urtungo Temiño reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 43rd minute Francisco Arancibia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victor Tabliega saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gustavo Fontanez to make the kick off. Gualaqui SC's Gustavo Fontanez got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Gualaqui SC booed when Shinquir SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Díaz Sella didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gualaqui SC's Gustavo Fontanez got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 58th minute, Francisco Arancibia fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Victor Tabliega, passed just outside the right post. In the 71st minute, Velasco Padro made a precise shot to the right of Urtungo Temiño. Shinquir SC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. When Shinquir SC's Francisco Arancibia in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gualaqui SC's goalie prevented a goal. When the match clock showed 78 minutes, the score became 2-2 when Francisco Arancibia sped through Gualaqui SC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Victor Tabliega. Francisco Arancibia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Velasco Padro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Urtungo Temiño tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gustavo Fontanez struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Urtungo Temiño didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gualaqui SC. Urtungo Temiño showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Velasco Padro, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The Shinquir SC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Shinquir SC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
