An unexpectedly hard shot by Lopez Jabariego in the 38th minute of play forced Chizalo's goalkeeper Lastra Ciscal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 41 minutes, Jerson Trexo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the UD Viejo and the Chizalo players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to UD Viejo getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Jerson Trexo hit a great ball. Xepe Alebio took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 42nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Méndez Lasarte. UD Viejo's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 48 minutes into the match, Chizalo's goal looked a bit too open when Vidal Bargas came free, but Lastra Ciscal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
