The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 6 played minutes CD Piango got a freekick which was hit by Gutierrez Vivas. After 7 played minutes, CD Chanquinima's Teofilo Guerrico shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Urtun Fuentecilla came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in CD Chanquinima reached it. Alejandro Niño hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. After 11 minutes of play, CD Chanquinima's Roris Vana made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Urtun Fuentecilla was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind CD Piango's goalkeeper Urtun Fuentecilla, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Fernando Legarda could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Tyrone Arambarri made a huge save. Pascual Magdalena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tyrone Arambarri having to interfere. After a rather tough play, CD Chanquinima's Roberto Barriga got a free kick in the 30th minute. Roberto Barriga charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Roberto Barriga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 32nd match minute, CD Chanquinima was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roberto Barriga to maneuver through the defense. CD Piango's Urtun Fuentecilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roris Vana in the 36th minute of play. A collision led to CD Piango getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Vincent Navaridas hit a great ball. In the 42nd minute, Gutierrez Vivas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 43rd minute, Roris Vana ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Urtun Fuentecilla was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Roris Vana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Fernando Legarda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Tyrone Arambarri tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tyrone Arambarri didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pascual Magdalena went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. After some careless play in the CD Chanquinima defense, Pascual Magdalena kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tyrone Arambarri. The CD Chanquinima fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tyrone Arambarri should have stopped the shot. Obregón Rico sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of CD Piango booed when CD Chanquinima was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iachetti Peñacerrada didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 67th minute of the match Vincent Navaridas shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tyrone Arambarri showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, CD Chanquinima's Iachetti Peñacerrada got a free kick in the 71st minute. After 87 played minutes CD Chanquinima's Obregón Rico stole the ball from his opponents and shot the ball towards the upper left corner, but Urtun Fuentecilla stretched himself as far as he could, and stopped the ball from passing the line. robbing CD Piango of the goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Urtun Fuentecilla prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Urtun Fuentecilla was a little too slow when Roris Vana got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 98th minute. The score was now 2-3. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched CD Chanquinima eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
