Armando Hera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Jacobo Areta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bolívar Orallo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernandez Sagrario, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Bolívar Orallo made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Cuero Hernan sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Fernandez Sagrario managed to get in a good position for a shot. UD Villacres's supporters rose to their feet, but Fernandez Sagrario was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bolívar Orallo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Armando Hera in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jacobo Areta prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 28th match minute, UD Villacres was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zuriko Valdueza to maneuver through the defense. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind UD Villacres's goalkeeper Jacobo Areta, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 37th minute, Vilson Bidania ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jacobo Areta was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. When Gregorio Pesquera fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored UD Villacres's protests and gave Gregorio Pesquera a yellow card for diving instead. In the 40th match minute, UD Villacres was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gregorio Pesquera to maneuver through the defense.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Armando Hera stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, Cuero Hernan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Bolívar Orallo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cuero Hernan struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Bolívar Orallo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for UD Villacres. In the 69th minute, Fernandez Sagrario ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bolívar Orallo was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Jacobo Areta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vilson Bidania, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Armando Hera was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 77th minute. Chulunguasi's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Armando Hera managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chulunguasi's supporters rose to their feet, but Armando Hera was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jacobo Areta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jacobo Areta came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Chulunguasi's Zeru Galguera. But to his dismay, Zeru Galguera quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Gregorio Pesquera kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. The Chulunguasi supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Chulunguasi would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
