The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Urrutia Sotilla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Esteban Ita having to interfere. Obregón Texidor could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Esteban Ita made a huge save. In the 15th minute, Obregón Texidor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Arias Penagos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Machachi's supporters rose to their feet, but Arias Penagos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristobal Monedero breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Diaz Lando had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind CD Yantzaza's goalkeeper Cristobal Monedero, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cristobal Monedero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diaz Lando in the 46th minute of play. Urrutia Sotilla struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Esteban Ita didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CD Yantzaza. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Urrutia Sotilla stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, Machachi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zosimo Castaño to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Urrutia Sotilla's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Esteban Ita was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. Esteban Ita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Urrutia Sotilla in the 61st minute of play. After 61 played minutes CD Yantzaza got a freekick which was hit by Gomez Resto. The supporters of Machachi booed when CD Yantzaza was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Intriago Viniambres didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arias Penagos in the 67thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Cristobal Monedero, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Obregón Texidor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Esteban Ita having to interfere. Arias Penagos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Machachi's zone, Urrutia Sotilla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Esteban Ita came out of the goal and Urrutia Sotilla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Urrutia Sotilla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Esteban Ita having to interfere. In the 90th minute Obregón Texidor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Esteban Ita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 95 minutes into the match, Arias Penagos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cristobal Monedero. CD Yantzaza's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arias Penagos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The CD Yantzaza supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Machachi's performance. The match ended with a win for Machachi.
