The audience was convinced that Xayvion Encinas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Camilo Fuertehijar was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. Xicu Galdamez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 42nd minute, Urtsua Tofino made a precise shot to the right of Camilo Fuertehijar. CD Africa's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Xurde Moreno was the one to do the kick off. CD Africa's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Urtsua Tofino 54 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-2. Xurde Moreno's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ataulfo Axeitos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. In the 61st minute, CD Tunaspamba's Urtsua Tofino ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Camilo Fuertehijar. Camilo Fuertehijar yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-3. Xurde Moreno blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ataulfo Axeitos having to make a save. The supporters of CD Africa booed when CD Tunaspamba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ramirez Rubayo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ataulfo Axeitos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xuaco Gayoso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Xurde Moreno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ataulfo Axeitos having to interfere. When Xicu Galdamez came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the CD Africa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Xicu Galdamez couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Xicu Galdamez managed to get in a good position for a shot. CD Africa's supporters rose to their feet, but Xicu Galdamez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ataulfo Axeitos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 91 minutes into the match, CD Tunaspamba's goal looked a bit too open when Xurde Moreno came free, but Ataulfo Axeitos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. CD Tunaspamba's Ataulfo Axeitos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xurde Moreno in the 93rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xurde Moreno in the 97th minute of play forced CD Tunaspamba's goalkeeper Ataulfo Axeitos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The CD Tunaspamba players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
