With a little luck, CD Jalpuen's Valdo Abaunza got control of the ball when Cortez Caloca tried to sneak it across the goal line. Valdo Abaunza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Guerrez, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Cortez Caloca hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Chalá Camudio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Weather Roza read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. Valdo Abaunza made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Cortez Caloca sent off a good shot on target. Valdo Abaunza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Guerrez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match clock showed 23 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Rosero Bengoechea sped through UD Cadenillas's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Weather Roza. After a rather tough play, UD Cadenillas's Velasco Villavicencio got a free kick in the 30th minute. After a defensive mix-up in CD Jalpuen's zone, Cortez Caloca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valdo Abaunza came out of the goal and Cortez Caloca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With an all-out effort, UD Cadenillas's Valdo Abaunza threw himself towards the right post 42 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Paulo Guerrez, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Weather Roza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rosero Bengoechea in the 47th minute of the match.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Paulo Guerrez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes had been played when some careless play by CD Jalpuen's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Oswaldo Cembraña was slow to take the kick. During this time UD Cadenillas's players had a chance to rest. 61 minutes into the match, UD Cadenillas's goal looked a bit too open when Chalá Camudio came free, but Weather Roza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. UD Cadenillas's Cortez Caloca got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 65 minutes, Urdaspal Rigual mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CD Jalpuen and the UD Cadenillas players grew even worse after the yellow card. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ugaitz Falceto in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Weather Roza prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 70th minute, Chalá Camudio fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In a very dangerous position, a player in CD Jalpuen fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 76th minute. Penalty! Valdo Abaunza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cortez Caloca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 84 minutes into the match, UD Cadenillas's goalkeeper Weather Roza had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rosero Bengoechea. 91 minutes into the match, Paulo Guerrez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Valdo Abaunza. CD Jalpuen's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Paulo Guerrez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rosero Bengoechea got free with Weather Roza in the 97th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cortez Caloca might have been able to make a better finish in the 99th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Valdo Abaunza. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cortez Caloca ran back to his position shaking his head. For all the effort they put into the match, the CD Jalpuen players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for UD Cadenillas.
