Xulian Inda kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Pablo Navarrete showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Quintana Carbo, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Darío Acebal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Puembo FC's zone, Inocencio Ramirez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Xefe Caamaño came out of the goal and Inocencio Ramirez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Puembo FC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Martin Recino hit a great ball. In the 21st minute, Inocencio Ramirez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Xefe Caamaño was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Edison Gabriel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Xefe Caamaño tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Inocencio Ramirez came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the CD Pinguili fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Inocencio Ramirez couldn't finish the play. 29 minutes into the match, CD Pinguili's goal looked a bit too open when Quintana Carbo came free, but Pablo Navarrete reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. CD Pinguili's Pablo Navarrete played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Darío Acebal in the 34th minute of play. Pablo Navarrete showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Quintana Carbo in the 35th minute of the match. Pablo Navarrete made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Darío Acebal in the 45th minute of play. David Telena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edison Gabriel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Darío Acebal who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 53rdth minute tested the skills of Pablo Navarrete when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Quintana Carbo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 60th match minute, CD Pinguili was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marquez Hernani to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Puembo FC's Braulio Zornoza got a free kick in the 63rd minute. In the 66th minute of the match CD Pinguili got a corner. Puembo FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Bagui Albarez ran over to the corner to take the kick. Bagui Albarez made a great header on CD Pinguili's corner, it was just that Puembo FC's Xefe Caamaño managed to reach the ball for a save. After 67 played minutes Puembo FC got a freekick which was hit by René Dulanto. When the match clock showed 72 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Edison Gabriel sped through Puembo FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Xefe Caamaño. CD Pinguili's Marquez Hernani suffered a concussion in the 83rd minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Puembo FC's Xulian Inda got his second yellow card of the match in the 83rd minute. The referee ordered Xulian Inda off the ground. When Vladimiro Artiaga fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CD Pinguili's protests and gave Vladimiro Artiaga a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Puembo FC booed when CD Pinguili was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vladimiro Artiaga didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Darío Acebal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Darío Acebal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Pablo Navarrete made a huge save. CD Pinguili's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
