After 17 minutes, Libertad Helguera mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tinco SC and the Quisapincha players grew even worse after the yellow card. Tinco SC's Pio Hondon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Tinco SC from getting a goal against them. 28 minutes into the match, Maximo Somoza had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pedro Maquibar. Quisapincha's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Maximo Somoza was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Pedro Maquibar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maximo Somoza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Quisapincha's Costante Sisalde slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Pio Hondon. That made the score 1-2 after 38 minutes of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Quisapincha's Renán Barzana slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Pio Hondon. That made the score 2-2 after 47 minutes of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Maximo Somoza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Quisapincha's supporters rose to their feet, but Agustin Arriano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pio Hondon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Renán Barzana's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pio Hondon was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. Costante Sisalde charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Costante Sisalde the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 76th match minute, Quisapincha was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Costante Sisalde to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Quisapincha's zone, Urtsin Revenga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Maquibar came out of the goal and Urtsin Revenga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Agustin Arriano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Maximo Somoza might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pedro Maquibar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Maximo Somoza ran back to his position shaking his head. When Costante Sisalde was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 89 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, Quisapincha's Costante Sisalde got a free kick in the 90th minute. Hidalgo Cabriada kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Agustin Arriano in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pio Hondon saved Tinco SC from getting behind.
