In the 5th minute Agustin Arriano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diaz Anduiza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Quisapincha's zone, Stacio Arrugueta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Maquibar came out of the goal and Stacio Arrugueta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Tondoa getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Castro Chavarri hit a great ball. Renán Barzana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Stacio Arrugueta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stacio Arrugueta might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pedro Maquibar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. The supporters of Tondoa booed when Quisapincha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Renán Barzana didn't get a good kick on the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Stacio Arrugueta to strike the kick off in the second half. Tondoa's Diaz Anduiza proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Tondoa from getting a goal against them. 62 minutes into the match, Quisapincha's goal looked a bit too open when Fernández Creus came free, but Pedro Maquibar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hidalgo Cabriada charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hidalgo Cabriada the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 76 played minutes Quisapincha got a freekick which was hit by Hidalgo Cabriada. Stacio Arrugueta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Renán Barzana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedro Maquibar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stacio Arrugueta, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. 91 minutes into the match, Stacio Arrugueta had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pedro Maquibar. Quisapincha's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stacio Arrugueta was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After having played for 96 minutes, Fernández Creus managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tondoa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fernández Creus was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
