The supporters of CD Yunguilla booed when Naranjo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ramirez Gou didn't get a good kick on the ball. Caicedo Naranjo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xepe Guardiola, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Xepe Guardiola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 17th minute Villagra Angeles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Caicedo Naranjo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Caicedo Naranjo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Villagra Angeles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 26 minutes, García Melgar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Naranjo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but García Melgar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Caicedo Naranjo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Villagra Angeles in the 29th minute of the match. Caicedo Naranjo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xepe Guardiola, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Villagra Angeles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Caicedo Naranjo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 40 minutes into the match, Xepe Guardiola notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Naranjo FC's Caicedo Naranjo. Caicedo Naranjo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Xepe Guardiola struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Caicedo Naranjo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CD Yunguilla. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Xepe Guardiola was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Naranjo FC's goalkeeper Caicedo Naranjo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 56 minutes into the match, CD Yunguilla's Villagra Angeles sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Caicedo Naranjo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 58th minute, Xepe Guardiola got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the CD Yunguilla defense, García Melgar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Valerio Moneda. The CD Yunguilla fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Valerio Moneda should have stopped the shot. Urtun Novo hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Valerio Moneda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from García Melgar in the 72nd minute of play. Zayveon Aquejano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Valerio Moneda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in CD Yunguilla's zone, Zayveon Aquejano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valerio Moneda came out of the goal and Zayveon Aquejano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Zayveon Aquejano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. CD Yunguilla's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
