The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Villarreal Barron showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Haya in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marlon Ribas saved Jabaspata from getting behind. Villarreal Barron stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fidel Villegas's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fidel Villegas in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Villarreal Barron prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Villarreal Barron made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Berraondo in the 45th minute of play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fidel Villegas to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Jabaspata's zone, Yoel Olozaga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marlon Ribas came out of the goal and Yoel Olozaga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Daniel Haya sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Miguel Berraondo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Villarreal Barron was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Fidel Villegas showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-1 in the 73 minute of play. Jabaspata's Marlon Ribas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Haya in the 85th minute of play. If Daniel Haya had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Jabaspata's Ferrer Orduña got a free kick in the 91st minute. When Yoel Olozaga came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Alhajuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Yoel Olozaga couldn't finish the play. If Daniel Haya had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Yoel Olozaga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alhajuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Yoel Olozaga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marlon Ribas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the final whistle went the supporters of Jabaspata were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Alhajuela side.
