Alonso Gao sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Marquez Pereta managed to get in a good position for a shot. Esperanza's supporters rose to their feet, but Marquez Pereta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hernández Mariaza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 12th minute Rodriguez Vedeja shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Angulo Martin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Hualo booed when Esperanza was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Simon Chirino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hernández Mariaza stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marquez Pereta's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Rodriguez Vedeja kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Angulo Martin. That made the score 1-0 in the 25 minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Alonso Gao managed to get in a good position for a shot. Esperanza's supporters rose to their feet, but Alonso Gao was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hernández Mariaza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodriguez Vedeja in the 31st minute of play forced Esperanza's goalkeeper Angulo Martin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 36th match minute, Hualo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Xavies Dameda to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Hualo's zone, Alonso Gao stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hernández Mariaza came out of the goal and Alonso Gao tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Esperanza getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Marquez Pereta hit a great ball. Hualo's Hernández Mariaza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alonso Gao in the 46th minute of play. Xavies Dameda kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

If Rodriguez Vedeja had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A long shot from Jose Berda in the 66th minute of play was well struck, but Hernández Mariaza made a really good save at the right post. After a defensive mix-up in Hualo's zone, Marquez Pereta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hernández Mariaza came out of the goal and Marquez Pereta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marquez Pereta in the 86th minute of play forced Hualo's goalkeeper Hernández Mariaza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match clock showed 93 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Alonso Gao sped through Hualo's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Hernández Mariaza. The Esperanza supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Esperanza would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
