Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Lopez Ibarguen started the match with the kick off. Carlos-Armando Noreña struck a weak shot in the 3rd minute. Americo Pinillas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for UD Salamina. If Lopez Ibarguen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Vicente Basagoitia fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored UD Salamina's protests and gave Vicente Basagoitia a yellow card for diving instead. In the 9th match minute, UD Salamina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vicente Basagoitia to maneuver through the defense. When Vicente Basagoitia came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the UD Salamina fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vicente Basagoitia couldn't finish the play. Carlos-Armando Noreña's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Americo Pinillas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lopez Ibarguen in the 21st minute of play forced UD Salamina's goalkeeper Xencio Cegama to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Zacarias Vila came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Coltapamba fans jumped to their feet. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lopez Ibarguen in the 28th minute of play forced UD Salamina's goalkeeper Xencio Cegama to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 30 minutes into the game, Emilio Gainza was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Coltapamba's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave UD Salamina the free kick. A collision led to Coltapamba getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Emilio Gainza hit a great ball. After having played for 32 minutes, Lopez Ibarguen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Coltapamba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lopez Ibarguen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 34th minute, Zacarias Vila made a precise shot to the right of Xencio Cegama. UD Salamina's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 38 minutes into the match, UD Salamina's goal looked a bit too open when Lopez Ibarguen came free, but Xencio Cegama reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zacarias Vila received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Xencio Cegama tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Batista Errasti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Americo Pinillas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos-Armando Noreña, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Carlos-Armando Noreña stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Carlos-Armando Noreña shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Americo Pinillas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When UD Salamina's Vicente Basagoitia in the 56th minute got a chance for a shot 56th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Coltapamba's goalie prevented a goal. Lopez Ibarguen struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carlos-Armando Noreña in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Americo Pinillas saved Coltapamba from getting behind. Zacarias Vila scored 0-2 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Xencio Cegama, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Lopez Ibarguen might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Xencio Cegama. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lopez Ibarguen ran back to his position shaking his head. UD Salamina's Vicente Basagoitia got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 79 played minutes Coltapamba got a freekick which was hit by Costante Ocerin. Lopez Ibarguen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Xencio Cegama read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. Zacarias Vila sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 86th minute, Batista Errasti hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 91st minute Lopez Ibarguen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xencio Cegama saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 94 played minutes Coltapamba got a freekick which was hit by Americo Barahona. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Coltapamba eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
