When Suscal Heredia came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the UD Sumo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Suscal Heredia couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vennancio Sardaneta in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Juan Toro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Juan Toro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Suscal Heredia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. UD Sumo's Dominguez Izquierdo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Casado Ramires in the 28th minute of play. Alberto Illescas kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. If Casado Ramires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Suscal Heredia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Casado Ramires stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
