Rubianes SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Xaver Arzallos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Romeo Bipiana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Candelario Mendes having to interfere. Jose Santecilla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nicolas Yzarra hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. In the 25th minute, Jose Santecilla fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Candelario Mendes, passed just outside the right post. A collision led to Jatupamba SC getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Nicolas Yzarra hit a great ball. Xaver Arzallos struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Candelario Mendes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rubianes SC. Candelario Mendes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jatupamba SC's Candelario Mendes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Jatupamba SC from getting a goal against them. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pavel Ojea made a kick off. When Benjamin Aoiz came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Rubianes SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benjamin Aoiz couldn't finish the play. In the 55th match minute, Jatupamba SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Efrain Ribota to maneuver through the defense. Daniel Masferrer hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. 60 minutes into the match, Jatupamba SC's Rodolfo Murua broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. When Valdo Portera fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rubianes SC's protests and gave Valdo Portera a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Jatupamba SC booed when Rubianes SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valdo Portera didn't get a good kick on the ball. Candelario Mendes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jose Santecilla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
