Ayoví Mareide fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zavier Grijan having to interfere. Chucho Borroel succeeded in the game's 30th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. In the 38thth minute of the game Chucho Borroel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but CD Congo's Umbruso Feliz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Camilo Rois hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. UD Zamora's Zavier Grijan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ayoví Mareide in the 46th minute of play. After the first half UD Zamora were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Chucho Borroel to make the kick off. When CD Congo's Ayoví Mareide in the 56th minute got a chance for a shot 56th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye UD Zamora's goalie prevented a goal. Chucho Borroel was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 85th minute. UD Zamora's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. If Chucho Borroel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Martinez Sambrano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Umbruso Feliz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
