Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Ayoví Mareide kicked off to start the match. Sebastian Amurrio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Moreno Cadrecha in the 3rd minute. Xosepin Manrique kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Asensio Bonachea in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Umbruso Feliz saved CD Congo from getting behind. Moreno Cadrecha made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 9thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Sebastian Amurrio would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. After 9 played minutes Mendez got a freekick which was hit by Genaro Rollan. 10 minutes into the match, Ayoví Mareide had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sebastian Amurrio. Mendez's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ayoví Mareide was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. If Asensio Bonachea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 19 minutes into the game, Mendez's Zavier Acutain nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Umbruso Feliz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Ayoví Mareide received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Sebastian Amurrio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ayoví Mareide recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Moreno Cadrecha came free with the goalkeeper in the 32nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Sebastian Amurrio could save by the left post. If Ayoví Mareide had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Moreno Cadrecha's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 36thth minute, Sebastian Amurrio skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Umbruso Feliz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Asensio Bonachea in the 38th minute of the match. If Moreno Cadrecha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Moreno Cadrecha hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Asensio Bonachea to strike the kick off in the second half. Nicolás Melo's late challenge caught a CD Congo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nicolás Melo helped the player get up and apologised. Moreno Cadrecha might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sebastian Amurrio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Moreno Cadrecha ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moreno Cadrecha in the 57th minute of play forced Mendez's goalkeeper Sebastian Amurrio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 61 minutes into the match, Moreno Cadrecha notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Mendez's Sebastian Amurrio. Sebastian Amurrio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Camilo Rois during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Camilo Rois kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Sebastian Amurrio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ayoví Mareide in the 67th minute of play. Zavier Acutain struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Umbruso Feliz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mendez. In the 69th match minute, CD Congo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Celso Ribadas to maneuver through the defense. Umbruso Feliz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Asensio Bonachea, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. 75 minutes into the game, Celso Ribadas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CD Congo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mendez the free kick. Zavier Acutain received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Umbruso Feliz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 85th match minute, Mendez was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Genaro Rollan to maneuver through the defense. CD Congo's Umbruso Feliz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Asensio Bonachea in the 89th minute of play. If Asensio Bonachea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Moreno Cadrecha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mendez's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
