Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 14 minutes into the match, Chischiguin's goal looked a bit too open when Roberto Otal came free, but Vasco Obana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Yépez Mancebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 26th minute Rene Alzorbe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vasco Obana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rene Alzorbe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arias Sierralta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Vasco Obana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from James Tiedra in the 35th minute of play. In the 37th minute, James Tiedra left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Jerusalem fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. The supporters of Chischiguin booed when Jerusalem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roberto Otal didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for James Tiedra to strike the kick off in the second half. Escobar Labiaga came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Chischiguin's Yépez Mancebo. But to his dismay, Yépez Mancebo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Chischiguin's Arias Sierralta got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vasco Obana made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rene Alzorbe in the 58th minute. Arias Sierralta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Escobar Labiaga having to interfere. Peter Buitrago hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Arias Sierralta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vasco Obana made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rene Alzorbe in the 69th minute. In the 77th minute of the match, Rene Alzorbe got a very nice opportunity to score, but Vasco Obana was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind Chischiguin's goalkeeper Vasco Obana, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Chischiguin had won after a very even match.
