The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Omar Iraegui had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Facundo Bazquez might have been able to make a better finish in the 7th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carabalí Frejon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Facundo Bazquez ran back to his position shaking his head. If Omar Iraegui had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cochasqui FC's goalkeeper Carabalí Frejon, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Facundo Bazquez was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 14th minute. Platopamba SC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Carabalí Frejon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Facundo Bazquez in the 19th minute of the match. 25 minutes into the match, Platopamba SC's goal looked a bit too open when Vito Muela came free, but Vincent Tolentin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Facundo Bazquez came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Platopamba SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Facundo Bazquez couldn't finish the play. In the 43rd minute, Facundo Bazquez reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Carabalí Frejon. The goal made the score 1-2. After the first half Cochasqui FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Wilson Neses made a kick off. Omar Iraegui struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Carabalí Frejon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Platopamba SC. 59 minutes into the match, Platopamba SC's goalkeeper Vincent Tolentin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vito Muela. Platopamba SC's Facundo Bazquez got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wilson Neses received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Vincent Tolentin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nestor Pacio during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 87 minutes into the match, Platopamba SC's goal looked a bit too open when Wilson Neses came free, but Vincent Tolentin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wilson Neses received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Vincent Tolentin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cochasqui FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
