If Facundo Bazquez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Omar Iraegui received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Gómez Aceituno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Facundo Bazquez in the 14th minute of play forced Chimbocal's goalkeeper Gómez Aceituno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 14 minutes into the game, Platopamba SC's Facundo Bazquez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gómez Aceituno made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Efrain Marti charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Efrain Marti the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Nixon Treceño's late challenge caught a Platopamba SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nixon Treceño helped the player get up and apologised. After 19 played minutes Chimbocal got a freekick which was hit by Nixon Treceño. Xoan Adrada recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 25 minutes, Facundo Bazquez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Platopamba SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Facundo Bazquez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Omar Iraegui fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gómez Aceituno having to interfere. If Xoan Adrada had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Vincent Tolentin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Joffre Colomines in the 31st minute. After having played for 40 minutes, Xoan Adrada managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chimbocal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Xoan Adrada was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gómez Aceituno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Facundo Bazquez in the 44th minute of play.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Xoan Adrada to strike the kick off in the second half. Facundo Bazquez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Facundo Bazquez got in the 71st a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Gómez Aceituno handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Chimbocal's Cumbicus Castaneda got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Facundo Bazquez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Omar Iraegui fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gómez Aceituno having to interfere. Chimbocal's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Facundo Bazquez 95 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-3. The Chimbocal fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Platopamba SC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
