Samuel Fraile who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 13thth minute tested the skills of Arturo Lucas when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 1-0 became the score in the 14th minute when Espiga Pintor elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 18 minutes into the game, Guagrahuasi's Ariel Jimeno nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Xulio Chirghentino made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Guagrahuasi's Arturo Lucas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Espiga Pintor in the 22nd minute of play. 27 minutes into the game, Samuel Fraile cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. The referee showed Wilson Arriba the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Wilson Arriba kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. In the 65th minute Espiga Pintor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arturo Lucas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Samuel Fraile fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arturo Lucas having to interfere. After 69 played minutes Guagrahuasi got a freekick which was hit by Wilson Arriba. Guagrahuasi's supporters rose to their feet, but Ariel Jimeno was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Xulio Chirghentino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
