The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ignacio Cero kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. Dennis Segura tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Zhipta SC booed when UD Aguahedionda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Venerando Alfebra didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dennis Segura made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oswaldo Yribarren in the 14th minute of play. Teo Cardiel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Monge Cueli read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. After 26 minutes, Teo Cardiel made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Zhipta SC's Monge Cueli tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Oswaldo Yribarren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dennis Segura having to interfere. Vicente Montarco might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Monge Cueli. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vicente Montarco ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpected shot in the 45th minute by Vicente Montarco got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Teo Cardiel could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Monge Cueli made a huge save. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When UD Aguahedionda's Vicente Montarco in the 54th minute got a chance for a shot 54th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After taking down the ball on UD Aguahedionda's corner Flavio Pillado fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Monge Cueli quite easily take care of the ball.
