Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Ramishitana's Hernando Costales started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 5 minutes, Udalaitz Orejo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CD Samborondon and the Ramishitana players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Ramishitana booed when CD Samborondon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Udalaitz Orejo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ferrer Mescua made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Rieta in the 7th minute of play. After having played for 11 minutes, Jaramillo Orantes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CD Samborondon's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jaramillo Orantes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lavalle Marcos charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lavalle Marcos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 15 played minutes CD Samborondon got a freekick which was hit by Lavalle Marcos. Miguel Rieta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ferrer Mescua having to interfere. Ramishitana's Miguel Rieta got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jaramillo Orantes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Miguel Rieta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jaramillo Orantes did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-0 to the left of a surprised Salomon Pereta 36 minutes into the match. 39 minutes into the match, CD Samborondon's goal looked a bit too open when Gomez Dalaje came free, but Ferrer Mescua reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Rieta in the 41st minute of play forced CD Samborondon's goalkeeper Ferrer Mescua to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jaramillo Orantes to make the kick off. If Gomez Dalaje had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Udalaitz Orejo was shown his second yellow card after 54 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 55th minute, Udalaitz Orejo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of CD Samborondon booed when Ramishitana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Castro Morea didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Jaramillo Orantes managed to get in a good position for a shot. CD Samborondon's supporters rose to their feet, but Jaramillo Orantes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Salomon Pereta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, CD Samborondon's Ferrer Mescua got control of the ball when Miguel Rieta tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind CD Samborondon's goalkeeper Ferrer Mescua, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lavalle Marcos hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Ramishitana's Salomon Pereta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John Olloa in the 88th minute of play. Salomon Pereta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaramillo Orantes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
