Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jaramillo Orantes started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodrigo Velis in the 8th minute of play forced CD Samborondon's goalkeeper Ferrer Mescua to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaramillo Orantes in the 12th minute of play forced Asomana's goalkeeper Yago Mondrevilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alejandro Dieguez kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. In the 15th minute of the match Urbes Antolin sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Yago Mondrevilla skillfully saved the ball. In the 15th minute, Lavalle Marcos had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. When Alejandro Dieguez fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Asomana's protests and gave Alejandro Dieguez a yellow card for diving instead. In the 16th match minute, Asomana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alejandro Dieguez to maneuver through the defense. After 17 played minutes CD Samborondon got a freekick which was hit by Tenorio Galban. After 23 played minutes CD Samborondon got a freekick which was hit by Jaramillo Orantes. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Alfonso Vidarte managed to get in a good position for a shot. Asomana's supporters rose to their feet, but Alfonso Vidarte was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ferrer Mescua breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 28th minute, Urbes Antolin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Asomana's Santos Cerecedo tried to score from far away in the 29th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by John Olloa in the 36th minute of play forced Asomana's goalkeeper Yago Mondrevilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Alfonso Vidarte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Alfonso Vidartes short, quick shot in the 48thth minute got Ferrer Mescua to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Rodrigo Velis made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaramillo Orantes in the 51st minute of play forced Asomana's goalkeeper Yago Mondrevilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 53rd minute, Valentin Carreras got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the CD Samborondon defense, Alfonso Vidarte kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ferrer Mescua. The CD Samborondon fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ferrer Mescua should have stopped the shot. Leonardo Echarri hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. After having played for 67 minutes, Rodrigo Velis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Asomana's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rodrigo Velis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Yago Mondrevilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from John Olloa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Asomana's Yago Mondrevilla proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Asomana from getting a goal against them. Udalaitz Orejo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Udalaitz Orejo came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the CD Samborondon fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Udalaitz Orejo couldn't finish the play. Ferrer Mescua took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodrigo Velis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Udalaitz Orejo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ferrer Mescua showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfonso Vidarte, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute.
