Zornin Cavero hit a great ball. 7 minutes into the match, Gruzpamba's Jairón Castellanos broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. With his leg Criban Molinuevo managed to avoid a goal in the 14thth minute, when UD Mataje's Orlando Mansilla fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Gruzpamba's Adolfo Reyes in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye UD Mataje's goalie prevented a goal. Fabian Abarca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adolfo Reyes, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. The supporters of Gruzpamba booed when UD Mataje was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martinez Boreyta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gruzpamba's Criban Molinuevo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Gruzpamba from getting a goal against them. Jose Serradell could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Criban Molinuevo made a huge save. Criban Molinuevo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Orlando Mansilla in the 29th minute of the match. Orlando Mansilla recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jose Serradell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jose Serradell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Criban Molinuevo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jose Serradell got free with Criban Molinuevo in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Simon Maroño sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fabian Abarca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Simon Maroño, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Adolfo Reyes made a kick off. Orlando Mansilla blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Criban Molinuevo having to make a save. Orlando Mansilla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 60th minute, UD Mataje's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Simon Maroño fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Martinez Boreyta hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Orlando Mansilla in the 67th minute of play forced Gruzpamba's goalkeeper Criban Molinuevo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jose Serradell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Criban Molinuevo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of UD Mataje booed when Gruzpamba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adolfo Reyes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind UD Mataje's goalkeeper Fabian Abarca, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Gruzpamba's Xzaiver Llerena got a free kick in the 84th minute. Orlando Mansilla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Jose Serradell managed to get in a good position for a shot. UD Mataje's supporters rose to their feet, but Jose Serradell was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Criban Molinuevo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Orlando Mansilla in the 90th minute of play forced Gruzpamba's goalkeeper Criban Molinuevo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 94th minute, Adolfo Reyes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
