In the 6th minute Ramos Caseres clashed with another player. He fell to the ground and was in great pain. It was obvious that he couldn't finish the game. After 6 minutes, Gonzales Raimundo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the UD Loja and the Palin players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 6 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for UD Loja! In the 9th minute there was a penalty for Palin. Veto Campesino stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Lara Balines. 0-1. If Vilson Alcega had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ledesma Mallo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Urki Feo in the 15th minute of play. Vilson Alcega fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lara Balines having to interfere. In the 19th minute Patricio Pombo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lara Balines saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Palin's goalkeeper Ledesma Mallo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Urki Feo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lara Balines showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vilson Alcega in the 32nd minute of the match. In the 32nd match minute, UD Loja was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alonso Villavedon to maneuver through the defense. 36 minutes into the match, Palin's goal looked a bit too open when Urki Feo came free, but Ledesma Mallo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The UD Loja players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Palin were winning 0-2.

The wind increased when Vilson Alcega made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Urki Feo in the 54th minute of play forced Palin's goalkeeper Ledesma Mallo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lara Balines made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Vilson Alcega sent off a good shot on target. UD Loja's Santo Moya got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Vilson Alcega managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palin's supporters rose to their feet, but Vilson Alcega was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lara Balines breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ledesma Mallo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Santo Moya in the 67th minute of the match. When Alonso Villavedon fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored UD Loja's protests and gave Alonso Villavedon a yellow card for diving instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Uriel Tene during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 77th match minute, Palin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Uriel Tene to maneuver through the defense. 78 minutes into the match, UD Loja's Zabal Señor broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. Santo Moya received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Ledesma Mallo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
