An unexpectedly hard shot by Joffre Ajorbe in the 21st minute of play forced CD Santiago's goalkeeper Azconzábal Texidor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Azconzábal Texidor made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alex Guia in the 23rd minute. The supporters of UD Paquintza booed when CD Santiago was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Méndez Grados didn't get a good kick on the ball. Victoro Bruna's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mariano Alaiz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Victoro Bruna stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Alex Guia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mariano Alaiz made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Campos Balines sent off a good shot on target. Azconzábal Texidor didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. Azconzábal Texidor was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Azconzábal Texidor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joffre Ajorbe in the 77th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in UD Paquintza's zone, Victoro Bruna stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mariano Alaiz came out of the goal and Victoro Bruna tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Patricio Cascales took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 82nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Azconzábal Texidor. CD Santiago's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. UD Paquintza's Mariano Alaiz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victoro Bruna in the 86th minute of play. Mariano Alaiz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victoro Bruna in the 88th minute of play. Joffre Ajorbe blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Azconzábal Texidor having to make a save. CD Santiago's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
