When Zoil Feliu came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the UD Gigantones fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zoil Feliu couldn't finish the play. In the 16th match minute, CD Santiago was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Corozo Laguna to maneuver through the defense. Ismael Burguete blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Azconzábal Texidor having to make a save. Zoil Feliu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Campos Balines succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 26th playminute. In the 34th minute of the match, Victoro Bruna tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Castillo Pecina saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The supporters of CD Santiago booed when UD Gigantones was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zacarias Cabezuela didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Victoro Bruna to make the kick off. If Campos Balines had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 91st minute, Zacarias Cabezuela hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Méndez Grados sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
