After having played for 3 minutes, Esterilla Socorro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guatara's supporters crossed their fingers, but Esterilla Socorro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Esterilla Socorro struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Estevez Cota didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guatara. If Esterilla Socorro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Xan Brancovi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ubaldo Jaurigui in the 13th minute of the match. Ubaldo Jaurigui received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Xan Brancovi came out and tried to block the shot, but Ubaldo Jaurigui slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 16th minute. Marco Ares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 25 minutes into the match, Sapan SC's Rolando Ascarraga sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Xan Brancovi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Xan Brancovi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ubaldo Jaurigui, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Sapan SC's zone, Marco Ares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Estevez Cota came out of the goal and Marco Ares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 33rd minute, Esterilla Socorro made a precise shot to the right of Estevez Cota. Sapan SC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. When Rolando Ascarraga came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Sapan SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rolando Ascarraga couldn't finish the play. In the 42nd minute, Rolando Ascarraga fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Xan Brancovi, passed just outside the right post. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sapan SC's goalkeeper Estevez Cota, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 49th minute of the match Victorio Malta shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Xan Brancovi showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Ubaldo Jaurigui made the kick off in the second half. Ubaldo Jaurigui struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. When Esterilla Socorro, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 77 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Estevez Cota was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 80th minute, Marco Ares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Guatara's Perez Baracaldo got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Esterilla Socorro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Estevez Cota tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marco Ares's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Estevez Cota read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. A collision led to Guatara getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Urbano Burgueño hit a great ball. Guatara were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Sapan SC to leave the ground with a draw.
