The coaching staff of Lata protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Lavallén Morelle had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Lata fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 44th minute. Penalty! The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

John Iturrate ran back to his position shaking his head. Lata's Javier Puga proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Lata from getting a goal against them. Javier Puga made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Castillo Buyeres sent off a good shot on target. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched CD Caracas eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
