Fortunato Olavarrieta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enrique Trigo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Shushufindi getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Paiva Miranes hit a great ball. Viteri Cribell's shot from long distance in the 8th minute was not bad at all, but Shushufindi's Fortunato Olavarrieta knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. After a rather tough play, Shushufindi's Urre Bautista got a free kick in the 12th minute. Umbruso Barrasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celso Urroz, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Urdaspal Agosto's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 24thth minute, Fortunato Olavarrieta skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The supporters of Bombonaqui booed when Shushufindi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xandro Echenique didn't get a good kick on the ball. Urdaspal Agosto might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fortunato Olavarrieta. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Urdaspal Agosto ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 30th minute of the match Claudio Pardelas shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fortunato Olavarrieta showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 32nd minute, Ovidio Boñar made a precise shot to the right of Umbruso Barrasa. Bombonaqui's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ovidio Boñar in the 41st minute of play forced Bombonaqui's goalkeeper Umbruso Barrasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Urdaspal Agosto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 46 played minutes Enrique Trigo could catch the ball where he stood relatively free a bit outside the goal and without hesitation he completed 1-1 into the left cross. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Ovidio Boñar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Umbruso Barrasa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ovidio Boñar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fortunato Olavarrieta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enrique Trigo in the 65th minute of the match. Bombonaqui's Umbruso Barrasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ovidio Boñar in the 68th minute of play. Enrique Trigo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fortunato Olavarrieta having to interfere. Vidal Panadero hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Ovidio Boñar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Celso Urroz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Umbruso Barrasa having to interfere. Umbruso Barrasa made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Celso Urroz sent off a good shot on target. If Urdaspal Agosto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Shushufindi players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Bombonaqui from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
