The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of CD Rumipungu booed when Tio SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alonzo Aras didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Tio SC's zone, Gonzales Balboa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Camacho Nogal came out of the goal and Gonzales Balboa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gonzales Balboa in the 24th minute of play forced Tio SC's goalkeeper Camacho Nogal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Camacho Nogal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from German Ilisarri in the 27th minute of play. German Ilisarri's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Camacho Nogal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. 43 minutes into the match, CD Rumipungu's goal looked a bit too open when Pico Agosta came free, but Zuberoa Unzueta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gonzales Balboa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pico Agosta was the one to do the kick off. Ambrossi Botejara's late challenge caught a Tio SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ambrossi Botejara helped the player get up and apologised. After 51 played minutes CD Rumipungu got a freekick which was hit by Ambrossi Botejara. Cruz Oberto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gonzales Balboa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Camacho Nogal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. But to his dismay, Pico Agosta quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 89th minute Pico Agosta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zuberoa Unzueta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gonzales Balboa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If German Ilisarri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
