The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Copchal getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Rafael Erazo hit a great ball. Telmo Benitua struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Cuero Cobo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Copchal. Telmo Benitua fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cuero Cobo having to interfere. After some careless play in the Copchal defense, Ysidro Bardeci kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Quintana Arroyo. The Copchal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Quintana Arroyo should have stopped the shot. 28 minutes into the match, Poalopos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Telmo Benitua came free, but Cuero Cobo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 29 minutes into the match, Copchal's Telmo Benitua sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cuero Cobo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After having played for 31 minutes, Celso Miñon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Copchal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Celso Miñon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 34th minute, Jorge Arcos fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Quintana Arroyo, passed just outside the right post. In the 39th minute, Jorge Arcos reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Quintana Arroyo. The goal made the score 2-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Jorge Arcos made the kick off in the second half. Rafael Erazo charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rafael Erazo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 53 played minutes Copchal got a freekick which was hit by Rafael Erazo. If Jorge Arcos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Coronel Cameno charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Coronel Cameno the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Celso Miñon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lorenzo Villacorta during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 64th minute, one of Poalopos FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Poalopos FC. The goalkeeper, Cuero Cobo, was totally fooled by Copchal's Juan-Carlos Carbajal, who 65 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 69th minute Ysidro Bardeci shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Quintana Arroyo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Copchal booed when Poalopos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Calle Mallo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Copchal's Juan-Carlos Carbajal tried to score from far away in the 73rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Telmo Benitua struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Cuero Cobo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Copchal. Copchal's Celso Miñon got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 79 played minutes Poalopos FC got a freekick which was hit by Villagra Bipiana. Telmo Benitua blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cuero Cobo having to make a save. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Poalopos FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Copchal had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
