In the 25th minute Ismael Bornes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Quintana Arroyo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 31 minutes into the game, Copchal's Celso Miñon nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luis Casanueva made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Quintana Arroyo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jaramillo Urruchi, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. 35 minutes into the game, Estevez Trabeso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tullapamba's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Copchal the free kick. Estevez Trabeso kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ismael Bornes was the one to do the kick off. After some careless play in the Copchal defense, Jaramillo Urruchi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Quintana Arroyo. The Copchal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Quintana Arroyo should have stopped the shot. If Ismael Bornes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luis Casanueva made an important save on a dangerous shot by Celso Miñon in the 77th minute. If Telmo Benitua had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Vilson Bolide came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Copchal fans jumped to their feet.
