When Oscar Urrechua came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Chimba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oscar Urrechua couldn't finish the play. Oscar Urrechua's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 5thth minute, Yiyo Magarinos skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Gilmar Cardet struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Xeromo Ozana didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Yaraspungo FC. After a defensive mix-up in Yaraspungo FC's zone, Oscar Urrechua stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yiyo Magarinos came out of the goal and Oscar Urrechua tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Xepe Galli hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. If Leonides Oquendo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Oscar Urrechua got free with Yiyo Magarinos in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Gilmar Cardet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Leonides Oquendo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Yaraspungo FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Leonides Oquendo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Xeromo Ozana breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mendoza Romaza's late challenge caught a Yaraspungo FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mendoza Romaza helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Chimba getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Mendoza Romaza hit a great ball. If Oscar Urrechua had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Díaz Sotorrio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Yiyo Magarinos was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. 37 minutes into the match, Chimba's goal looked a bit too open when Gilmar Cardet came free, but Xeromo Ozana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Chimba getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Mendoza Romaza hit a great ball. Yiyo Magarinos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Díaz Sotorrio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Leonides Oquendo to make the kick off. Xeromo Ozana stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Leonides Oquendo's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. Gilmar Cardet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Xano Escudero kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. After having played for 68 minutes, Leonides Oquendo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Yaraspungo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leonides Oquendo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Yiyo Magarinos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oscar Urrechua, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Yiyo Magarinos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Díaz Sotorrio in the 74th minute of play. Yaraspungo FC's Gilmar Cardet got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Chimba's Xeromo Ozana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonides Oquendo in the 81st minute of play. With a little luck, Chimba's Xeromo Ozana got control of the ball when Gilmar Cardet tried to sneak it across the goal line. 85 minutes into the match, Yaraspungo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Díaz Sotorrio came free, but Yiyo Magarinos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leonides Oquendo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Leonides Oquendo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chimba's Mendoza Romaza got his second yellow card of the match in the 94th minute. The referee ordered Mendoza Romaza off the ground. Mendoza Romaza hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Leonides Oquendo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Yaraspungo FC played a much better game than Chimba and deserved their victory. The Chimba players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
