The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Elvis Poves had to leave the field with a concussion. After 4 minutes, Krikorian Castruita mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Zharzhan and the Vera players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Vera Peso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 19 minutes in the game, Vera Peso fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Wilfredo Portocarrero having to interfere. 28 minutes into the game, Enrique Tejeria was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vera's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Zharzhan the free kick. Enrique Tejeria kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Vera Peso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Zharzhan's supporters rose to their feet, but Vera Peso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilfredo Portocarrero breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Xosepe Pestaña had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. A collision led to Vera getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Enrique Tejeria hit a great ball. In the 46th minute Xosepe Pestaña shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Borja Entrena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eugenio Sobrado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilfredo Portocarrero having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Xosepe Pestaña to make the kick off. Xosepe Pestaña in the 58thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Borja Entrena, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Vera's Wilfredo Portocarrero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vera Peso in the 60th minute of play. Xosepe Pestaña sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
