After 3 minutes, Nacho Arrateguibel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CD Taramar and the UD Yamala players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of UD Yamala booed when CD Taramar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nacho Arrateguibel didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Intriago Siles came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the UD Yamala fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Intriago Siles couldn't finish the play. Xavier Millera recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Xavier Millera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Viteri Nueva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julio Vellana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miguel Achiaga in the 15th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Xavier Millera in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Viteri Nueva prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Xesus Varon scored 0-1 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vellana, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Bolívar Alcano hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. 33 minutes had been played when some careless play by UD Yamala's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Insua Mino was slow to take the kick. During this time CD Taramar's players had a chance to rest. The corner led CD Taramar's Insua Mino to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vellana despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When Cevallos Vital came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the UD Yamala fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cevallos Vital couldn't finish the play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Bolívar Alcano hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. 78 minutes into the match, UD Yamala's goalkeeper Julio Vellana had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Insua Mino. Viteri Nueva was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Xavier Millera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the UD Yamala players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
