The audience thought a goal was coming when Udalaitz Calahorra got free with Víctor Labiaga in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Udalaitz Calahorra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Valentim Anel was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 10th minute. UD Burgay's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 23 minutes into the game, Rodolfo Alpanseque cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Telmo Suesa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Telmo Suesa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodolfo Alpanseque in the 26th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Udalaitz Calahorra managed to get in a good position for a shot. UD Burgay's supporters rose to their feet, but Udalaitz Calahorra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Víctor Labiaga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Telmo Suesa came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by UD Laguna's Angel Ursua. But to his dismay, Angel Ursua quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. If Valentim Anel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 40 minutes, Rodolfo Alpanseque managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. UD Laguna's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rodolfo Alpanseque was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ubelteso Bazan struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Telmo Suesa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for UD Laguna. Udalaitz Calahorra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Víctor Labiaga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Ubelteso Bazan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Telmo Suesa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ubelteso Bazan in the 57th minute of play. Telmo Suesa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ubelteso Bazan in the 61st minute of the match. Roberto Castaños hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. If Udalaitz Calahorra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The supporters of UD Burgay booed when UD Laguna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roberto Castaños didn't get a good kick on the ball. The UD Burgay fans' excitement grew in the 90th match minute when UD Burgay's Udalaitz Calahorra looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. UD Laguna's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
