Ponce Estopinal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Desiderio Caller, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Ponce Estopinal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Desiderio Caller in the 8th minute of the match. 11 minutes into the match, Yapi's goal looked a bit too open when Desiderio Caller came free, but Ponce Estopinal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Maras booed when Yapi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Criban Payueta didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Mariano Galarza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Yapi's Nicolas Gerica slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Candelario Merida. That made the score 1-0 after 20 minutes of play. Rodriguez Arco charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rodriguez Arco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The crowd rose to their feet as Yapi's Nicolas Gerica slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Candelario Merida. That made the score 2-0 after 35 minutes of play. Ponce Estopinal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Desiderio Caller in the 40th minute of the match. In the 41st minute Mariano Galarza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ponce Estopinal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 42 minutes, Desiderio Caller managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Desiderio Caller was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

Candelario Merida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Criban Payueta in the 52nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Yapi's zone, Mariano Galarza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ponce Estopinal came out of the goal and Mariano Galarza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Nicolas Gerica's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Candelario Merida was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. When the match clock showed 70 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Nicolas Gerica sped through Maras's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Candelario Merida. Candelario Merida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Criban Payueta in the 74th minute of play. If Criban Payueta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Yapi's Ponce Estopinal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Desiderio Caller in the 82nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Criban Payueta in the 83rd minute of play forced Maras's goalkeeper Candelario Merida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 88 minutes, Vigil Manzanedo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Yapi and the Maras players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 88th match minute, Yapi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vigil Manzanedo to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Desiderio Caller managed to get in a good position for a shot. Maras's supporters rose to their feet, but Desiderio Caller was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ponce Estopinal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
