The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adolfo Benegas during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Motuche's goalkeeper Lucio Morejon, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lucio Morejon made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Ubarna Navariega was shown his second yellow card after 68 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, Patatena's Ubarna Navariega got a free kick in the 68th minute. The supporters of Motuche booed when Patatena was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adolfo Benegas didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 80 minutes, Mateus Fole managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Teofilo Cribell hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. The Patatena players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
