The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 6 minutes into the match, Cusubambito FC's Benjamin Margarita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cortez Cayon narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Umbruso Doria's late challenge caught a Cusubambito FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cortez Cayon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rolando Montane, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Calle Baltuile struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. José-Manuel Cediel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for UD Barranco. 2-0 became the score in the 25th minute when Benjamin Margarita elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. UD Barranco's defense didn't have a chance, in the 28th minute, when Benjamin Margarita scored to the left of an out of position Cortez Cayon, making the score, 3-0. After 32 played minutes, UD Barranco's Carlos-Alberto Orbañanos shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper José-Manuel Cediel came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in UD Barranco reached it. UD Barranco's Calle Baltuile got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by George Bodon during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Cortez Cayon made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Benjamin Margarita sent off a good shot on target. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

Cusubambito FC's José-Manuel Cediel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Calle Baltuile in the 55th minute of play. After 59 minutes, Benjamin Margarita mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cusubambito FC and the UD Barranco players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Cusubambito FC getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Benjamin Margarita hit a great ball. In the 62nd minute, Cusubambito FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Javier Chacin fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. During the 64th minute of the match George Bodon completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. One of Cusubambito FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of UD Barranco:s goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Javier Chacin got free with José-Manuel Cediel in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. José-Manuel Cediel made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Javier Chacin sent off a good shot on target.
