In the 8th minute, Xefe Herruz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Jimbiquiti SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. After 12 played minutes Yacuambi FC got a freekick which was hit by Americo Rubain. A collision led to Jimbiquiti SC getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Pio Valls hit a great ball. Yacuambi FC's Ursino Iruz got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ursino Iruz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Ursino Iruz came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Yacuambi FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ursino Iruz couldn't finish the play. Casado Cossio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Segundo Ayllon having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Xefe Herruz got free with Bernardo Abadie in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Xefe Herruz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardo Abadie having to interfere. Xefe Herruz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bernardo Abadie read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Casado Cossio made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Jimbiquiti SC's goalkeeper Segundo Ayllon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ursino Iruz. In the 55th minute, Pio Valls hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Casado Cossio had several of the Jimbiquiti SC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 61 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-1 score and a disappointed Segundo Ayllon as he didn't even see the shot coming. Yacuambi FC's Bernardo Abadie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xefe Herruz in the 65th minute of play. Xefe Herruz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Bernardo Abadie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Xefe Herruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 73 minutes into the match, Jimbiquiti SC's goal looked a bit too open when Casado Cossio came free, but Segundo Ayllon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 77th minute, Ursino Iruz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Xefe Herruz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Bernardo Abadie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Libertad Barbosa hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Gabriel Ergueta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Yacuambi FC's zone, Xefe Herruz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernardo Abadie came out of the goal and Xefe Herruz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Ursino Iruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
