In the 5th minute, Jacinto Eureste hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Johnny Caravajal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benjamin Verdugo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Benjamin Verdugo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20thth minute of the game Antonio Caravantes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but CD Pimampiro's Hernandez Rubiños was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Lagarto FC booed when CD Pimampiro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Lavega didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 28 played minutes, Lagarto FC's Elvis Varioz shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Hernandez Rubiños came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Lagarto FC reached it. 37 minutes into the game, Ximenes Dehesa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CD Pimampiro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lagarto FC the free kick. In the 38th minute, Ximenes Dehesa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of CD Pimampiro booed when Lagarto FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xandro Bribiesca didn't get a good kick on the ball. Johnny Caravajal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benjamin Verdugo in the 42nd minute of play. If Gustavo Estenaga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 46 played minutes CD Pimampiro got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Lavega. The CD Pimampiro players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Lagarto FC were winning 0-1.

After some careless play in the Lagarto FC defense, Patricio Olazaran kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Johnny Caravajal. The Lagarto FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Johnny Caravajal should have stopped the shot. Hernandez Rubiños took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antonio Caravantes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Antonio Caravantes in the 63rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hernandez Rubiños prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gustavo Estenaga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Benjamin Verdugo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Benjamin Verdugo in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Johnny Caravajal saved Lagarto FC from getting behind. Gustavo Estenaga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Hernandez Rubiños made a huge save. In the 82nd match minute, Lagarto FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yago Crujeiras to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Lagarto FC's zone, Benjamin Verdugo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Johnny Caravajal came out of the goal and Benjamin Verdugo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Lagarto FC's Jacinto Eureste got a free kick in the 88th minute. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
