Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Estrada Campesino started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Noriega Peñacastillo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 6 minutes, Ubendu Llosa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ambato and the UD Putzalahua players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Ambato fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 5th minute. Penalty! Alvaro Velez made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Moreta Marote sent off a good shot on target. In the 19th minute, Agustín Benites hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 22nd minute, UD Putzalahua's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Estrada Campesino fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After some careless play in the Ambato defense, Bran Mobilla kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Daniel Santillana. The Ambato fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Daniel Santillana should have stopped the shot. Daniel Santillana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bran Mobilla, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Estrada Campesino in the 36th minute of play forced UD Putzalahua's goalkeeper Alvaro Velez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Moreta Marote got free with Alvaro Velez in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Moreta Marote could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Alvaro Velez made a huge save. Moreta Marote took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alvaro Velez. Alvaro Velez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bran Mobilla stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Moreta Marote charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Moreta Marote the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 53rd minute, Moreta Marote hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Daniel Santillana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bran Mobilla in the 57th minute of the match. Bran Mobilla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Guagua Velasquez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 62 minutes, Antonio Boreyta mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ambato and the UD Putzalahua players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 62nd match minute, Ambato was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Boreyta to maneuver through the defense. Bran Mobilla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Santillana having to interfere. Bran Mobilla hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Alvaro Velez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Moreta Marote in the 72nd minute of the match. Alvaro Velez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Estrada Campesino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alvaro Velez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Moreta Marote's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. Moreta Marote scored 2-2 in the 80th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alvaro Velez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. UD Putzalahua were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
