Zeruko Cavadilla didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zuñiga Belluga went, in the 6th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. When Lucio Gajardo fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored UD Cuardele's protests and gave Lucio Gajardo a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Guachapala booed when UD Cuardele was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lucio Gajardo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zernin Burcena was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Obregón Verdes. 22 minutes into the match, Guachapala's goal looked a bit too open when Zuñiga Belluga came free, but Zeruko Cavadilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 23rd minute, Simon Ballestero made a precise shot to the right of Zeruko Cavadilla. Guachapala's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. In the 29th minute Zuñiga Belluga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zeruko Cavadilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 31 minutes into the match, UD Cuardele's goalkeeper Zernin Burcena had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Demetrio Jane. Simon Ballestero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zeruko Cavadilla having to interfere. 35 minutes into the game, Demetrio Jane was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Guachapala's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave UD Cuardele the free kick. Zernin Burcena came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Guachapala's Humberto Franques. But to his dismay, Humberto Franques quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. After having played for 47 minutes, Demetrio Jane managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guachapala's supporters crossed their fingers, but Demetrio Jane was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zuñiga Belluga was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Demetrio Jane in the 52nd minute of play forced UD Cuardele's goalkeeper Zernin Burcena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. UD Cuardele's Zernin Burcena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Humberto Franques in the 57th minute of play. After 58 minutes, Ramon Asencion mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Guachapala and the UD Cuardele players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of UD Cuardele booed when Guachapala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ramon Asencion didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zuñiga Belluga in the 60th minute of play forced Guachapala's goalkeeper Zeruko Cavadilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Demetrio Jane blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zernin Burcena having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Humberto Franques managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guachapala's supporters rose to their feet, but Humberto Franques was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zernin Burcena breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Zeruko Cavadilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zuñiga Belluga, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Zuñiga Belluga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Zeruko Cavadilla tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Demetrio Jane had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Humberto Franques in the 84th minute of play forced UD Cuardele's goalkeeper Zernin Burcena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 88 minutes into the match, UD Cuardele's goal looked a bit too open when Humberto Franques came free, but Zernin Burcena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 92nd minute of the match Viviano Herro shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Zernin Burcena showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Ricart Barrantes hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Demetrio Jane fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zernin Burcena having to interfere. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
