Armando Albarez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Samuel Solano during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Namarin SC booed when Shumunde SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Samuel Solano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fernandez Padrones was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 21 minutes into the match. In the 20th minute, one of Shumunde SC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Shumunde SC. The referee gave Namarin SC a penalty, 23 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Leonardo Tros, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Shumunde SC's Pedro Villanueva. 0-1. Samuel Solano hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Salas Cubo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Villanueva having to interfere. If Salas Cubo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 40 minutes into the match, Shumunde SC's goal looked a bit too open when Iván Arrate came free, but Pedro Villanueva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Salas Cubo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Pedro Villanueva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 46th minute, Salas Cubo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedro Villanueva was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Armando Albarez to make the kick off. Salas Cubo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pedro Villanueva having to make a save. 55 minutes into the match, Namarin SC's goal looked a bit too open when Armando Albarez came free, but Xuaco Azpilcueta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Humberto Lazo made a great header on Shumunde SC's corner, it was just that Namarin SC's Xuaco Azpilcueta managed to reach the ball for a save. Iván Arrate recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Namarin SC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Salas Cubo hit a great ball. Iván Arrate might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pedro Villanueva. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Iván Arrate ran back to his position shaking his head. Armando Albarez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Salas Cubo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pedro Villanueva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iván Arrate in the 83rd minute of the match. After 84 minutes, Sandro Portillo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Shumunde SC and the Namarin SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Sandro Portillo hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Iván Arrate fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Villanueva having to interfere. When Iván Arrate came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Namarin SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iván Arrate couldn't finish the play.
