The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Trivniño Alegria during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 8th minute, Trivniño Alegria hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ubendu Mendibuey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Urko Trespalacios, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alexander Vegal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Zambrano Sancho made a huge save. Trivniño Alegria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Zambrano Sancho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 19th minute, Loco Colado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ubendu Mendibuey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Urko Trespalacios, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Celica SC's Alexander Vegal got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Trivniño Alegria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Marlon Reboredo fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Paloma's protests and gave Marlon Reboredo a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Celica SC booed when Paloma was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marlon Reboredo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Celica SC's Loco Colado got a free kick in the 28th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Urko Trespalacios in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ubendu Mendibuey prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Zambrano Sancho didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Trivniño Alegria went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Urko Trespalacios was the one to do the kick off. When Celica SC's Alexander Vegal in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Paloma's goalie prevented a goal. Zambrano Sancho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Trivniño Alegria in the 58th minute of the match. Alexander Vegal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Zambrano Sancho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paloma's Zambrano Sancho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Trivniño Alegria in the 64th minute of play. 74 minutes into the match, Celica SC's goalkeeper Ubendu Mendibuey had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Galve. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Galve got free with Ubendu Mendibuey in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ubendu Mendibuey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Urko Trespalacios, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Ubendu Mendibuey was a little too slow when Daniel Galve got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 81st minute. The score was now 1-2. In the 91st minute Trivniño Alegria shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zambrano Sancho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ubendu Mendibuey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Urko Trespalacios in the 96th minute of the match. The Paloma supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Paloma would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
