When the match had gone on for 3 minutes, Suscal Casquete put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Isaias Garate. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcos Laurencio in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nixon Gondin saved CD Mier from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcos Laurencio in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nixon Gondin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Isaias Garate took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xepe Urbieta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Balseria getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Rey Enestrosa hit a great ball. CD Mier's Xepe Urbieta got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of CD Mier booed when Balseria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zuberoa Vallejo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Suscal Casquete in the 20thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Isaias Garate, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. With his leg Isaias Garate managed to avoid a goal in the 23rdth minute, when CD Mier's Suscal Casquete fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcos Laurencio in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nixon Gondin saved CD Mier from getting behind. Rey Enestrosa charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rey Enestrosa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 30 played minutes Balseria got a freekick which was hit by Rey Enestrosa. Xepe Urbieta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Isaias Garate tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. CD Mier's Xepe Urbieta got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Marcos Laurencio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Balseria's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcos Laurencio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nixon Gondin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marcos Laurencio struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Nixon Gondin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Balseria. After having played for 46 minutes, Tyrone Gamez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Balseria's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tyrone Gamez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tyrone Gamez to make the kick off. Tyrone Gamez was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 63rd minute. Balseria's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 69th minute, CD Mier's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Marcos Laurencio fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Balseria's zone, Xepe Urbieta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Isaias Garate came out of the goal and Xepe Urbieta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nixon Gondin made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Marcos Laurencio sent off a good shot on target. Isaias Garate made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xepe Urbieta in the 87th minute of play. Xepe Urbieta struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Isaias Garate didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CD Mier.
