The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Erwin Cura sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hernando Erran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from López Porregimon in the 9th minute of play. With his leg Hernando Erran managed to avoid a goal in the 13thth minute, when Loropico SC's Juan Rienda fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Erwin Cura fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernandez Montoto having to interfere. Humberto Pozuelos charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Humberto Pozuelos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Loropico SC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 19th minute. Penalty! Hernando Erran made an important save on a dangerous shot by Juan Rienda in the 25th minute. López Porregimon blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hernando Erran having to make a save. In the 32nd minute Erwin Cura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernandez Montoto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Erwin Cura struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Fernandez Montoto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for UD Benitez. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Xerardo Ibisate managed to get in a good position for a shot. Loropico SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Xerardo Ibisate was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hernando Erran breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half UD Benitez were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when López Porregimon made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd play minute Erwin Cura came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Fernandez Montoto. 0-2. Fernandez Montoto made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Erwin Cura sent off a good shot on target. 59 minutes into the match, Loropico SC's goal looked a bit too open when Rey Olozagoitia came free, but Fernandez Montoto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fernandez Montoto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rey Olozagoitia, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Rey Olozagoitia struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Fernandez Montoto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for UD Benitez. Erwin Cura received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Fernandez Montoto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Loropico SC's Fernandez Montoto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rey Olozagoitia in the 71st minute of play. 74 minutes into the match, Loropico SC's goal looked a bit too open when Rey Olozagoitia came free, but Fernandez Montoto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 78 minutes into the match, UD Benitez's Rey Olozagoitia sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fernandez Montoto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Juan Rienda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hernando Erran having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Juan Rienda managed to get in a good position for a shot. UD Benitez's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erwin Cura was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpected shot in the 88th minute by Erwin Cura got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Rey Olozagoitia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 96th minute, Xerardo Ibisate hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
